Forest of Galtres Lodge No 9438 is a Lodge of Freemasons meeting in Easingwold in the Masonic Province of Yorkshire North and East Ridings, under the authority of the United Grand Lodge of England. In Freemasonry terms our Lodge is relatively young, having only been formed in 1991. Many other Lodges in the North of England can trace their origins back to the 1700’s!
The Lodge meets at the Galtres Centre, Easingwold on the first Monday of the month in:
- November – Installation Meeting
- December
- February
- March
- April
- May
- June
- October
For those members who may wish to stay after the Lodge meeting has ended, a dinner (our festive board) is held a few doors away at the George Hotel https://the-george-hotel.co.uk
We are different from many other Freemasons' Lodges in that we do not have our own dedicated building. We are a community based lodge, and whereas Masonic Lodges can be set out on a permanent basis in such locations, the room we use for our meetings is also used by others at different times. We believe this brings our Lodge closer to the local community as we interact with other Centre users on a regular basis.
The Forest of Galtres Lodge enjoys an active social calendar, with family and friends at many of the functions we arrange. The nearby George Hotel is often the hub for our social activities, providing an ideal venue for us to meet and socialise in the community – something which is very important to us all in the Lodge.
